Guild Wars Prophecies
A friend asked me this and it got me thinking too.
"What year does Guild Wars take place in?" 1500s? 1700s? |

Really it's entirely fictional. There is no solid factual basis on which to estimate a century. I mean we have swords and arrows and stuff, whihc is one indicator. Then there are things like high-tech advanced mining operations, and seige weapons with explosive projectiles. Of course magic throws any true sense of realism out the window.

Doesn't ANYBODY read the Guild Wars Manuscripts? Some good lore in there, as well as a timeline. I will quote some of it.

So there. 1072AE I guess, though another year or two has probably passed from the time of post-searing to Ring of Fire. Do not try to compare GW years to modern day years. GW is a lot like warcraft - most kingdoms are in a medieval/renaissance era, and, just like in Warcraft, the dwarves have already entered an industrial age of gunpowder, ballistae, etc. |
